Reggie Jackson was passed his prime, during his tenure with the Angels, but you would have not have known it today. He hit two homeruns off of Royals' ace David Cone, both of which landed in the plastic geysers at Angels Stadium.

MVP: Reggie Jackson

For some reason, a lot of Cone's team mates don't like him much.

"He's kinda weird, to be honest," said George Brett. "Plus you hear these rumours about him, that are just plain gross."

Despite his 'eccentric' behavior, nobody can deny that during his early years in Kansas City, he was a devastating power pitcher. So it came to some surprise, that Cone struggled against the Angels today.

"I couldn't get a rhythm early," said Cone. "I gave up that lead off single to Erstad to start the game and I got flustered. Then I hung a curve to Jackson a few batters later and he launched the thing."

Cone gave up three runs in the first and eventually gave up a second homerun to Jackson in the 6th inning. He was replaced after the 6th, as he had thrown nearly 100 pitches.

"Not enough strikes," lamented Cone and I got chased early.

Meanwhile, Mike Witt for the Angels managed a Royals' lineup that has yet to hit its stride. George Brett went 0-4 and the rest of the Royals did not fare much better.

"We are better than this," said Brett. "We were world champions in 1985 for a reason. We've let the great city of Kanas City down, but we're going to bounce back soon."

Reggie Jackson was not available for interview, as he was out in the mezzanine, hocking t-shirts and video-tapes that commermorated today's performance.
